Bugs bugging bugs
My uncle has a restored Galaga machine I used to play alot as a kid. He once showed me this trick that makes all of the bugs stop shooting at you for the entirety of the game(heh). Of course with the advent of the Internet everyone knows about this so I can't go to arcades and impress chicks with this anymore. Of course, being an adult now, trying to impress Jr. High school chicks at an arcade in the suburbs is kind of creepy so everything turned out better than expected. I will say though, that I actually did show a girl this once when I was a kid and she thought I was the coolest guy ever, so the success rate of this pickup move is 100% in my book. Enjoy your Friday night, fellow bloggers!

Neat trick. But what fun is a game without a challenge? That is why I never cheat.
ReplyDeleteA original arcade machine?! That's awesome. I love Galaga. When I was little me and my friend would play this game for endless days. If I knew about this trick I would have beaten the game!
ReplyDeleteIt's hypnotic. I could watch that all day...
ReplyDeletebugs in space never made sense to me but this was always a fun game, next to mrs pac man
ReplyDeleteVery good, the game brought memories.
ReplyDeleteI'm jelly that you've got a real arcade machine to play with/pick up chicks with. Unfair!
ReplyDeletewaat. i didn't know about this. they still have a sit down galaga machine at my pizza parlor so i can totally try this now while waiting for my food. thanks

Kinda cool :) Brings back some memories :)
ReplyDeleteSweet man, never knew about that truck.
ReplyDeleteVery good article, all the old games have some thing ,which causes you want to play , and you don't need any pixel shaders, anti-aliasing to have fun.
ReplyDelete+followed :)
thats crazy lol
ReplyDeleteI really wish I knew this trick when I was a kid
ReplyDelete>I actually did show a girl this once when I was a kid and she thought I was the coolest guy ever
ReplyDeleteWhy this doesn't work with girls anymore.
I still play this whenever I get the chance.
ReplyDeleteI miss these big arcade games. I grew up with Centipede and Popeye in my house, and miss them a lot.
ReplyDeleteonly now do i find out about this trick lol
ReplyDeleteOh Galaga, those were the days. i think I played it in an arcade maybe once; I used to have a 63-in-1 game cartridge for me NES and it had Galaga on it - as well as Galaxian. So, there was no more need to play it in the arcade.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, if the critters aren't shooting at you, it's little more than a shooting gallery, and with games like that, it gets old fast.
These days, if you're lucky enough to find an arcade (let alone one with thirty year old games in it), it's probably not the best place to pick up chicks, even if you are a teenager. Unless there's a Twilight game, maybe they'd go for that :p
Amazing... I love it.
ReplyDeleteIm glad to hear of your massive success.
ReplyDeleteNice. But i couldn't see a girl hanging around for 18 minutes while you dodge one bee...
ReplyDeleteI miss the times when games still had cool cheat codes
ReplyDeleteplay this game on mame. it's fun :)
ReplyDeletecheatin' ain't much fun anyways, especially if it won't impress chicks.
ReplyDeleteneat trick, i didn't know that it existed.
ReplyDeleteKind of a cheap trick lol.
ReplyDeleteI just learned something new. Seriously :0)
ReplyDeleteNice Trick.
ReplyDeleteI never actually knew this. This would have impressed me greatly, though I wouldn't have done any of the things you might have wanted that Jr. High school girl to do to you...
ReplyDeleteI used to love galaga
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm not sure that it's worth it, at least not from a gaming perspective, if it helped you pick up chicks then maybe it was! Keep the awesome coming! Followed
ReplyDeleteCool trick. Thats awesome that you used this to pick up, must have been a cool girl!
ReplyDeletefar left second row eh? cool, there's an arcade near my house with an old Galaga machine, cant wait to try it
ReplyDeletelady gaga ftw?
ReplyDeleteI want an arcade machine.
ReplyDeletecool trick. Is it just me or is the galaga ship suppose to be blue and red, it looks white in the video.
ReplyDeletePretty cool trick, strange that it wasn't exploited more often.
ReplyDeleteNever knew this trick, but I don't think I ever played Galaga on an arcade machine. Did play Galaxian a few times though.
ReplyDeleteI would think you're cool too! ;)
ReplyDeletehaha, cool stuff.
ReplyDeleteI don't think kids these days still go to the arcade anymore. But man, galaga is a fun game. Even today it still holds up.
ReplyDeleteDamn, this is good to know.
ReplyDeleteThats a cool trick bud. Kinda takes the fun out of the game but still, it would be fun to show off with.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. Wish I knew that trick back in the day.
ReplyDeletei dont like game cheats
ReplyDeleteI showed a girl Subzero's fatality in the original MK and she kissed me... this is not a true story...
ReplyDeleteAwesome trick, I'm too young to really put this to use tho, somehow I don't think the girls would go for it now days
ReplyDeletelol, creepy as it may be - it's still worth a shot.
ReplyDeleteNot serious....
I used to play this all the time. This is the first time I ever heard of this trick!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your uncle has a Galaga machine, that's sick. I don't really like video games, but retro games are always fun, especially if they're in the machine to enhance the atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteI'm a girl and I'm swooning over you right now.
ReplyDeleteBuggin like crazy, Followed!
