Contra Speed Run: Epic
Well after having no Internet for like 4 days I return to bring you the most beastly Contra speed run (NES version) I have ever seen. This guy isn't perfect and probably could have shaved about a minute off his time, but ZERO lives lost throughout, and his mastery of Snow Field and Energy Zone are insane. Keep in mind before this though the game is pretty much easy-mode, but watching this is almost like artwork to me. Contra isn't the hardest game to beat without losing a life, (I've done it a few times) but to do it this fast is pretty impressive.

ReplyDeleteOMG, you should check out the Freelance Astronauts. Maxwell Adams can actually play TWO isntances of Contra at the same time. He didn't beat both, but it came damn close. Google them up =D
ReplyDeleteI never was able to beat Contra. Great game and fantastic soundtrack though. This guy has some skill.
ReplyDeleteI watched this not so long ago actually (or, atleast another speed run). Contra is hard enough to beat by itself, so this is no easy task.

ReplyDeleteThis guy must be a fox with the ladies... If only I had his gift!
ReplyDeleteI thought beating the game without the konami code was pretty badass, this beats that easily.
ReplyDeletewow, more than impressive!
ReplyDeleteI think I played it twice a long time ago and it was so hard that didn't want to try it never again. Some years after I discovered that the Probotector for Game Boy was a version of Contra.
Nice blog, i love oldschool games!
I must say, the guy's got skills. But how do you know that the video is genuine?
ReplyDeleteNot bad. I'm not really that great at that game. Only because I never played it much. but that guy is fast.
